SOME COMMON NON-COMMUNICABLE DISEASES


 

Anaemia:

  1. Anaemia is caused due to the deficiency of essential mineral called iron in the blood.
  2. A person suffering from anaemia looks pale and gets tired very easily.

 

Obesity:

  1. Obesity is caused due to excess intake of fatty foods in our diet.
  2. Though fats are essential for our body, but excess consumption of fats is bad for health.

 

Allergy:

  1. Some people are very sensitive to dust or certain foods, animals, drugs, etc.
  2. Exposure to such substances makes some people ill.

This is termed as allergy.

 

Points to Remember:

•      A person whose diet is deficient in iodine is likely to suffer from goitre.

•      Bad habits like smoking can cause cancer.
