CLASSIFICATION OF KINGDOM PLANTAE

Plants are eukaryotic multicellular autotrophic organisms. They are classified on the basis of following criteria:

The first level of classification among plants is the differentiation of body parts into different organs like stem, leaves, roots etc.

The second level is based on the development of vascular system in well organized stem and roots. Vascular system is comprised of xylem and phloem that helps in conduction/ transportation of water and food in plants.

Third level of classification of plants depends on its ability to bear seeds.

Fourth and last level is that whether the seeds are naked or enclosed within fruits.
