Types of Prepositions:
Prepositions of PLACE: In, on, at , between, among, above, across, below, under, beside, by, behind, etc.
Examples:

There is a banana AMONG the fruits.

Mother is standing BETWEEN the twins.
Meanings of prepositions of place

The child is IN the trolley. (within an area)

The man is waiting AT the bus-stop. (particular place)

The parrot is ON the perch. (placed above and touching)

The clouds are ABOVE the hills. (placed vertically above, not touching)
-
There is a butterfly BY the flowers. (by the side of)
-
The house is BETWEEN the trees. (in the middle of two things)

There is one purple balloon AMONG the balloons. (with many things)
