Operation Black Tornado, November 2008
In November 2008, 10 members of Lashkar-e-Taiba, an Islamic militant organisation based in Pakistan, carried out a series of 12 coordinated shooting and bombing attacks lasting four days across Mumbai. The attacks, which drew widespread global condemnation, began on Wednesday, 26 November and lasted until Saturday, 29 November 2008, killing 164 people and wounding at least 308.
During the terrorist attack on, the NSG commandos slithered down from helicopters and stormed Nariman House. They rescued 9 hostages from the building on the first day. Meanwhile in the Taj and Oberoi hotels, the commandos exchanged gunfire with the militants and managed to rescue 300 and 250 hostages respectively.
 
Operation Surya Hope
June 2013 North India floods
The Indian Army  launched 'Operation Surya Hope' to rescue thousands stranded in Kedarnath, Badrinath and other places in Uttarakhand.

Operation All Out 
launched by Indian army to flush out Bodo militants.
Union Government in the fourth week of December 2014 decided to launch Operation All Out against Bodo militants. The decision to launch the operation was taken during the meeting of Army chief General Dalbir Singh Suhag and Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh in Delhi. 
 
Operation Maitri
A rescue and relief operation in Nepal by the government of India and Indian armed forces in the aftermath of the April 2015 Nepal earthquake. 
 
Operation Vijay, May 1999
In the summer months of 1999, the Pakistani Army infiltrated Indian territory and seized strategic locations. Once discovered, the Indian Army and Air Force launched Operation Vijay which involved close to 35,000 Indian soldiers.
 
 
Operation Raahat
An operation of the Indian Armed Forces to evacuate Indian citizens and other foreign nationals from Yemen during the 2015 military intervention by Saudi Arabia and its allies in that country during the Yemeni Crisis.
