Earth is the only planet where life is possible due to the presence of basic resources required for the survival of living organisms.
Resources provided by nature that supports the survival of living organisms directly or indirectly are known as natural resources. These resources include air, water and soil/ land which are provided by the nature.
Such natural resources as well as living forms together constitute the environment.
The air that covers the whole of the Earth like a blanket is called the atmosphere.
Water covers 75% of the Earth’s surface. These comprise the hydrosphere.
The outer crust of the earth is known as lithosphere. It is the zone where soil and rocks rich in minerals are found.
The zone where all these three- atmosphere, hydrosphere and lithosphere interact and make life possible is known as the biosphere.
