Uses of some prepositions:
IN, ON, AT – Used for stationary things (nouns)
TO, UPON, INTO – Used for things (nouns) in motion
Examples:

The pens are IN the holder.

The ink dropped INTO the bottle.

The police man is ON the motorbike.

The kitten jumped UPON the ball.

They are going TO meet a friend.
