Prepositions Notes-3 [Level-5]

 

Uses of some prepositions:

IN, ON, AT – Used for stationary things (nouns)

TO, UPON, INTO – Used for things (nouns) in motion

Examples:

  1. The pens are IN the holder.

 

  1. The ink dropped INTO the bottle.

 

  1. The police man is ON the motorbike.

 

  1. The kitten jumped UPON the ball.

 

  1. They are going TO meet a friend.

 

Other uses of in – ON – AT

IN – ON – AT: Prepositions of TIME

Examples:

  1. Please come AT six o’clock to meet the teacher.

 

  1. Reach the station ON time or you will miss the train.

 

  1. You can meet the doctor ON Monday AT 4 o’clock.

 

  1. The hockey match will be played IN the morning.

 

  1. We celebrate Uttarayan IN January.
