Original verb + ing
Original verb + ing = (for) pres. cont. ten
sleep + ing = sleeping
stay + ing = staying
Verbs ending in 'e': (the last 'e' is dropped)
Original verb + ing = (for) pres. cont. tense
give + ing = giving
ride + ing = riding
Verbs that have one vowel before the final consonant:
(The final consonant is doubled, except when the word ends in 'w' and ‘y’)
