IF: Used for stating conditions.
Examples:
“You will definitely win. You must be very alert,” said the coach.
“You will definitely win IF you are very alert,” said the coach.
Soup becomes tasty IF salt and pepper are added adequately.
You must be good all the time IF you want many gifts at Christmas.
You will miss the plane IF you do not hurry up.

Used to talk about a situation in which the result is not according to what has happened before or not according to what is expected.
THOUGH Harry studied hard, he did not pass.
Harry did not pass THOUGH he studied hard.
ALTHOUGH he studied hard, Harry did not pass.
Harry did not pass ALTHOUGH he studied hard.
THOUGH Sunil waited for two hours, the bus did not come.
ALTHOUGH Sunil waited for two hours, the bus did not come.
The bus did not come THOUGH / ALTHOUGH Sunil waited for two hours.
Sunil waited for two hours; the bus did not come THOUGH.
ALTHOUGH / THOUGH she eats carrots every day, she has weak eyes.
