Dogs
Dogs are friendly, loyal house pets. There are about 150 kinds of dogs. There are bull dogs, grey hounds, blood hounds and lap dogs etc. The dog is a flesh eater. It has sharp teeth. It’s teeth are very helpful in tearing meat. It has thin legs. They help it in running very fast. There are short thick hairs all over its body. Some dogs are tall and others are small.
The dogs serve us in many ways. Children love to play with it. Trained dogs carry messages and do many other wonderful things. In cold countries the dog draws the sledge. Some dogs are very good swimmers. They save children from being drowned. The policemen use dogs in tracing out thieves and criminals. On mountain paths dogs carry sacks of bread and bottles of water. Many dogs have saved the lives of travellers. They save people caught in mountain storms. Small dogs like poodles are very cute. They perform in circus shows and entertain people. A sheep-dog is the most intelligent of all dogs. It helps its master in looking after his sheep they also give company to those who are lonely.

Shepherd - takes care of grazing animals.
Doberman - helps police to catch thieves.
Alsatian - guides those who cannot see.
St. Bernard - saves people caught in storms.
Poodle - performs in circus shows.
Pomeranian - gives good company.
