  1. peace – calm

example – I can work better if I have some peace and quiet.

piece – segment

example – Aashi wrote something on a small piece of paper.

 

  1. plain – not decorated in any way; with nothing added

example – She was wearing a plain pink dress.

plane – a vehicle designed for air travel, which has wings and one or more engines

example – I traveled to Mumbai by plane.

 

  1. bite – to use your teeth to cut into something or someone

example – Your dog is so cute. Does it bite?

byte – a unit of computer information, consisting of a group of bits

example – A byte is a unit of memory size.

 

  1. way – a route, direction or path

example – I want to go to airport but I don’t remember the way.

weigh – to have a heaviness of a stated amount, or to measure the

heaviness of an object

example – I weigh 60 kilos and my brother weighs 70 kilos.

 

  1. idle – not working or being used

example – The supervisor appointed 200 persons for the work but now over 20 percent of the workforce is idle.

idol – a picture or object that people pray to as part of their religion or a person or thing that is loved or admired very much.

example – I saw huge idol of Lord Shiva in the temple.

 

  1. root – the part of a plant which grows under the ground. It absorbs minerals & water that it sends to the rest of the plant.

example – We can eat the roots of some plants such as carrots.

route – a particular way or direction between places

example – If you wish to go to Delhi from Jaipur, this is the shortest route.

 

  1. ring – a circle, a circular metal band that you wear on your finger

example – She was wearing a very beautiful diamond ring in her ring finger.

wring – to remove the water from clothing by twisting it

example – Please wring these clothes thoroughly !

 

  1. knot – a join made by tying two ends of string or rope together

example – She tied the two ropes together with a knot.

not – used to make a word or statement have the opposite or negative meaning

example – She has called me for the party but I’m not going.

 

  1. gait – a particular way of walking

example – He walked with a slow stiff gait.

gate – a door in a fence or outside wall, that you can open and close

example – There was a big iron gate outside the palace, we drove through the gate and reached the garden.

 

  1. pedal –part of a machine that you move with your foot

example – My sewing machine is operated by a foot pedal.

peddle – to sell things, especially by taking them to different places

example – Ram worked as a door to door salesman. His duty was to

peddle books and magzines.
