  1. cell – a small room in which a prisoner is locked up or in which a monk or nun sleeps

example – The prisoner lay quietly in his cell.

sell – give or hand over in exchange for money

example – You cannot sell something that is not yours.

 

  1. seen – past participle of ‘see’ which means to watch something

example – I have never seen such a beautiful house.

scene – a representation of an incident, or the incident itself

example – I don’t like to see the violent scene of any movie.

 

  1. peal – a loud ringing of a bell or bells

example – Everyone listened to the peal of the church bells.

peel – remove the outer covering or skin from a fruit or vegetable

example – Orange peel is also used as a face scrub.

 

  1. toe –one of the five small parts that stick out from the foot.

example – I stubbed my toe on the step.

tow – to pull a car, boat, etc. behind another vehicle, using a rope or a chain.

example – My car broke down so I called for a tow.

 

  1. pain – hurt

example – The patient is suffering from acute back pain.

pane – window glass

example – Shaunak broke the glass pane with his ball.

 

  1. pray – to speak to a god either privately or in a religious ceremony

example – Every morning I go to the temple to pray.

prey – an animal that is hunted and killed for food by another animal

example – A vulture is a large bird of prey.

 

  1. bow – to bend your body forward, as a way of showing respect

example – To greet someone, Chinese bow instead of shaking hands.

bough – a main branch of a tree

example – Monkeys swing from bough to bough.

 

  1. mail – postage

example – I check my mail regularly.

example – She read the story aloud.
