DIFFERENT THRESHING METHODS

Foot threshing:

In this process, threshing is done by using bare feet or animals to thresh the crop which is spread on the floor.

Manual threshing:

In this process, the grains are separated from the straw by impact when the crop is beaten against a slatted bamboo; wooden platform or any other hard object such as steel oil drum.

Pedal threshing:

In this process, we have to hold the crop against a threshing drum driven by foot crank combs.

Machine threshing (Mechanical threshing):

Threshing is also done with the help of machines such as combine harvester.

Because of high labour requirement of normal threshing; mechanical threshers of different types and sizes are increasingly being used.
