These centrioles are made up of hollow and cylindrical structures called microtubules.
In plant cells, centrosome is replaced by a structure called polar caps.
Function:
They help in cell division by forming spindles in animal cells. During cell division centrioles migrates towards the poles of animal cells and are involved in the spindle formation.
In plant cells same function is performed by polar caps.
