Correct use of some important prepositions:
WITH / BY
With = thing (instrument) that does the action
By = doer of the action
Example:

Cut the fruits WITH a knife.

The T-shirt was admired BY my uncle.
-
The thief was frisked BY the inspector WITH his hands.
Other uses of by
Example:

We shall travel BY train.
-
The journey is difficult BY car.
Similarly – by bicycle/motorcycle, by taxi, by bus, by air, by plane, by sea, by boat, by ship.
BUT

Sunil came here ON his motorcycle. (specific motorcycle)

I shall travel ON the 6 o’clock express train. (specific train)

We went IN our car. (particular car)
