SOUND PRODUCED IN HUMAN

  • The organ involved in the production of sound is larynx or voice box.
  • It is situated in the neck at the upper end of the wind pipe.

  • The sound produced is controlled by Vocal cords. These are thin stretched membranes across the voice box.
  • Muscles are attached to the vocal cords which can vary tension in the vocal cords.
  • Because of this human beings can produce variety of sounds.
