In division we see the relationship between the dividend, divisor, quotient and remainder. The number which we divide is called the dividend. The number by which we divide is called the divisor. The result obtained is called the quotient. The number left over is called the remainder. For example if 89 is divided by 4 then 89 is dividend,4 is divisor,20 is quotient and 1 is remainder.
Relationship : Dividend = divisor x Quotient + remainder
89 = 4 x 20 + 1
