An Arithmetic expression involving multiple operations is not as simple as operations involving two numbers. An operation on two numbers is easy but how to solve an expression with brackets and multiple operations and how to simplify a bracket? BODMAS Rule answers this question.

The BODMAS acronym is for: Brackets (parts of a calculation inside brackets always come first). Orders (numbers involving powers or square roots). Division. Multiplication.Addition, Subtraction.

"Operations" mean ; add, subtract, multiply, divide, squaring, etc. If it isn't a number it is probably an operation. If you don't follow BODMAS rule while solving a mathematical expression, you may get wrong answers.
