Comparison of adjectives
Positive degree – basic adjective
(tall, short, long, etc.)
Comparative degree – higher than positive degree.

Superlative degree – the highest degree

Rules for forming the comparative and superlative degrees:
Rule 1:
For adjective ending in ‘y – change ‘y’ to ‘i’ and then add ‘er’/ ‘est’
